Description
Bibliographies are humble, altruistic, and extremely difficult works. As soon as the author offers to his peers the outcome of a decay of studies through several libraries and catalogues, his colleagues can comfortably add an ignored item, read or meet by chance a week before, and sometimes magnify its relevance.
Despite this, Maurizio Fabbri delivers a comprehensive work, which represents the first attempt to provide the Italian language and the minor regional languages with a systematic collection of the vast and varied lexical heritage belonging to the Italian lexicographic domain. It includes monolingual, bilingual or multilingual dictionaries, vocabularies, glossaries, and lists of names of Italian languages and dialect.
The tool is equipped with five indexes: authors, languages, dialects, regional italian languages, and subjects, where each entry is indicated with the corresponding number. The main users of the bibliography will be philologists, linguists, lexicologists, and, of course, librarians. But even other scholars (e.g., ethnologists or anthropologists), as well as educated people, will greatly benefit from its consultation.
